I live in Fincastle, VA, but I can do work in eagle rock, buchanan or Botetourt County. I'am a 18 year old student of James River Highschool and is in 11th grade.

I'am looking for a job, for after school. I' am an intermiedate to experienced rider on all kinds of breeds. I have worked green horses, spirited horses, nervous horses and older horses. I'am good at teaching lessons, grooming, babysitting, riding, working, mucking stalls or helping out around the barn. I will work for any kind of payment! I also have ridden western, plantation, gaited horses, jumpers, hunter pleasures and bareback!

05 AQHA black gelding for on-farm lease.  Dante is 15hh; he loads, clips, ties, bathes, lunges, stands for farrier and vet, and is easy to handle.  He goes english or western, and has been shown successfully in both. He quite enjoys trail riding, both on and off the farm. I have not done much jumping with him as I mostly do western, but he’s capable of learning. He also knows his leads, backs, side passes, turns on his haunches and forehand. He knows many of the trail class obstacles as well as showmanship patterns. He has a laid back personality and is very quiet but he’s definitely the barn clown and loves being around people.  I’ve owned Dante for awhile and he’s a very good boy, but I’ve got another youngster to bring along and just don’t have the time to fully commit to him right now. 

Farm is located in Botetourt county.

My 13 year old daughter is looking for a Hunter/Jumper barn where she can do barn chores, exercising horses, etc. in exchange for someone to mentor her in the Hunter/Jumper, CT, or Eventing scene. She has 5 years riding experience and owning her own horses. She has shown Hunters/Jumpers successfully in the past 3 years in open shows, but would like to move forward. I am unable to afford consistant lessons for her at this time. Would anyone be interested in a young, reliable intern to help her on her way? She wants to move up and she will work hard to do so. Hi I do not know if you have found a place for your horse.  I just leased a barn in Troutville and I have stall space.  Horses are expensive and I could use some help with the lease pmnt.  I also have pastures for turn out and a riding arena.  The barn needs a little work so it is not the ritz, but the stalls are comfy and out of the wind.

April's Painted Sky "April" is a 5 yr old, 14.3h Thoroughbred/Paint cross. April is a very nice pony that would make an excellent first horse! She will jump anything you put in front of her with ease! This pony has tight knees over jumps and is calm/fancy enough for hunters but has enough power for the jumper ring! April is a seasoned show horse and nothing seems to bother her! She is always in the ribbons in the local hunter shows and has started her rated show career! She has easily cleared 3'3-3'6 jumps. Currently being riden/shown by a 14 yr old girl and is a barn favorite among the kids. April is up to date on everything. She is also good for vet, farrier, trailer, ect. *must sell*

I am looking for a paid working student position for the upcoming summer, beginning around the middle of May until the middle of August. If it is close enough I could possibly continue through December. I do not need the position for an internship credit, but I am willing to fill an internship spot if one is available.  I will be located in Blacksburg or Franklin County (depending on which is closer) for the summer, so somewhere in that general area would be ideal. 
 
Currently, I am participating in the new sport horse breeding program in Middleburg, VA through Virginia Tech so I will have experience in neonatal foal care and AI breeding work.  My interests lie more toward breeding and the raising of young stock however, I am open to new experiences and any new learning opportunity. I have experience with racing thoroughbreds as well as hunters and sport horses.  I also have experience starting young horses under saddle and would feel confident as an excercise rider, but I have not shown in some time.  I'm used to cleaning stalls and doing chores but would love an opportunity to do something more hands on with the horses.

Hi Everybody,
  My son (7) and our three horses moved to Laurel Fork, Va in the fall. We found a great barn with indoor arena, but even so, been too cold to ride for a few months.  We are going stir crazy and wonder if there are any other horse folks out there to chat with.  We have belonged to horse clubs in NC, TN and Il and hope to find one here.
  My son rides a TW mare and I have a quarter mare and am starting a warmblood gelding.  We love to trail ride as well as arena and hope to start the gelding over fences soon.
